Biography
Professor Karen Petrie is the Interim Director of the Dundee International Institute, a joint education institute in China called the Dundee International Institute of Central South University (DIICSU). Prof. Karen Petrie will be based in China at CSU for Semester 1 of academic year 2022-23.
Prof. Karen Petrie holds a PhD in Constraint Programming, which is a branch of Artificial Intelligence. She was named young IT practitioner of the year by the British Computer Society (BCS) in 2004, for work she carried out whilst on placement during her PhD at NASA. She is currently a professor (Chair of Algorithms and Education) and the Associate Dean for Academic Culture and Performance in the School of Science and Engineering at the University of Dundee.
