Alexandra Harris

My name is Alexandra and I am originally from Fairlie, a small village on the west coast of Scotland. In June 2022, I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Biological Chemistry and Drug Discovery from the University of Dundee. My Honours project was focused on the synthesis of the non-natural chemical defence metabolites Volutamides A-E. The aim of this project was to design a reliable synthetic route and subsequently conduct the synthesis to enable further investigation into the potential anti-inflammatory properties associated with the Volutamides. As part of my final year, I attended a series of lectures on PROTACs, which really sparked my interest in the subject.
