This module provides a critical understanding of how to design and analyse studies of behaviour and attitudes in Psychology.
Topics covered in this module include:
- psychological research methodologies
- qualitative data analysis
- quantitative statistical methods
- communication of psychological findings
What you will learn
In this module, you will:
- develop a critical understanding of the core research methodologies used for investigating different psychological questions
- learn to use qualitative research techniques for analysing interviews and focus group data
- gain experience of using statistical software to analyse experimental datasets
- develop the practical skills to undertake independent psychological research
- understand how to evaluate and think critically about psychological research
- improve your ability to integrate the components of the research process into a written report
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- demonstrate critical evaluation of psychological investigations through applying knowledge of statistical analysis and methodological approaches
- show originality, planning, and execution skills in the context of a research project
- use advanced software products in the generation of reports, including conducting advanced statistical tests
- develop creative or improved approaches to research questions in the field of psychology
