The module consists of 28 hours of lectures supplemented by a series of workshops. The lectures will encompass the following topics: The historical development of human resource management; Introduction to underlying assumptions and theoretical models; The relationship of human resource management to overall organisational objectives, strategy and human resource planning; Recruitment and selection; Performance appraisal; Human resource development and Rewards management.
