Learn more about Professor David and Dr Agnes Dow and the transformative impact of their support

Professor David and Dr Agnes Dow had a deep connection to the University of Dundee, having both received their medical training at Dundee before holding teaching positions. For over thirty years, they shaped the lives of hundreds of Medicine and Dentistry students.

The Dows were passionate about widening access, improving student welfare, and developing innovative teaching methods. Today, The Dow Memorial Trust continues their legacy by supporting initiatives that reflect their passions.

Since 1998, the Trust has generously donated over £3 million to projects that positively impact medical and dental students at the University. Whether helping students to overcome financial barriers, funding new scrubs, or improving learning facilities, the Trust’s support continues to empower the next generation of aspiring dental and medical professionals.

“We are deeply thankful for The Dow Memorial Trust's remarkable generosity, which underpins every student's journey in the School of Medicine. From funding uniforms and removing financial barriers to providing global learning opportunities and access to pastoral care, their support empowers us to contribute meaningfully to the University mission to “transform lives".”

Professor Rory McCrimmon, Vice-Principal, Faculty of Health

“The Dow Memorial Trust's generosity goes beyond supporting individual students; it is an investment in the future of healthcare. Their extraordinary support empowers us to not only train the next generation of doctors and dentists, but to also innovate in our fields and ensure our graduates are prepared to serve their communities for decades to come. We are deeply grateful for their continued partnership.”
