Main Library refurbishment

Our newly refurbished top floor is now fully open
The new space includes :
- Enhanced workstations (screen dividers to be fitted soon to help control noise)
- Individual PC monitors some with dual screens and monitor docks
- Power sockets and charges at every desk
- Standing desks
- Individual semi-enclosed study booths with acoustic panels
- Hot and cold water kitchen facilities
- Upgraded Willock Suite with new AV equipment and noise insulation
- Calming space
- Book stock available to access and browse
- Silent study with use of features in the build to help reduce noise travel
Three group study rooms have been created in the new Willock Suite and will soon become bookable on Libcal. Also, a calming space to help you relax and rest during a break from studying. Kitchen facilities including sinks and hot and cold water have also been added.
The top floor area will remain as silent study with use of features in the build to help reduce noise travel.
Student desktop PCs now available including 20 with double monitors
Improvements across the Main Library
- Additional gender-neutral toilets now open and available for use in areas 1A and 2A
- Enhanced PC provision with dual monitors added to 20 existing PCs
- High specification PCs with dual monitors
- Additional solo study pods
New desks with power, including USB-C (dividers for each desk coming soon)
Study space and PCs
- Laptops available from the InfoZone
- Need a bigger screen? Connect a laptop to our monitor docks located on the ground and top floors
- Wolfson 3 on the ground floor of Main Library is now available as silent study
