We are recruiting for a Research Tissue Coordinator within Tayside with good experience of sample and data management to support clinical research studies and trials. We require someone who has excellent communication and coordination skills to coordinate across various teams across the NHS and University including hospital settings such as surgical admissions ward, theatres, NHS pathology and University research teams. In times of tight deadlines with competing demands we require an individual who can organise their workload efficiently and be pro-active in supporting the development of new pathways to include patients within research opportunities.
Based in Ninewells Hospital, one of Europe's largest teaching hospitals, the School of Medicine provides outstanding medical education and training supported by world class research facilities.
Your priorities will include:
- Working with clinical systems and support to identify and consent patients.
- Coordinate with teams across the NHS and University to collect required tissue samples.
- Process samples in accordance with research protocols for release or tissue banking.
- Log in samples into accredited sample management systems.
- Access clinical systems to associate limited clinical data.
- Work to standards of best practice for tissue and data protection.

- Can problem solve and adapt & propose new opportunities for tissue collection.
- Can work comfortably with databases and excel spreadsheets.
