An opportunity to meet and socialise with other students starting on the Psychology programme and key members of staff.

Matriculation (registration)

Matriculation is where you officially register as a student with the University of Dundee, to allow you to attend classes and access facilities such as the Library and My Dundee. You'll be asked to matriculate at the start of every academic year while you are a student.

  • Before you start your course, we will send an email to your student email address with a link to eVision. Complete this task by 3 October. You must do this before you can receive your Student ID Card and access the virtual learning environment (MyDundee).
  • You will be asked to complete a series of steps to confirm some information we hold about you, or enter this information if it was not supplied in your application.
  • Please also take a moment to make sure your address details are correct and up to date. Even if you are staying in temporary accommodation we will need local contact details - your address can be updated in eVision later if you move.
  • You will also need to agree to the University’s Code of Conduct and Declaration.
  • The final stage of the task will confirm you are a fully matriculated student with the University.
  • You will be able to check your matriculation status via the Student Profile tab.

Your student ID card

Have you uploaded your photo to eVision?

You will be able to collect your Student ID card via the School of Humanities, Social Sciences & Law Reception located in the Old Medical School Building from Monday, 15 September:

Monday – Friday  10:00-12:00 and 14:00 - 16:00
Please do not come to Reception until you have completed the online matriculation task.

Your ID card:

  • verifies your status as a student of the University of Dundee
  • provides access to the library and other buildings as required
  • entitles you to a range of student discounts

Once you have received it, you should carry it with you and produce it on request at any time while you are on the University campuses. You should not let anyone else use it.

Induction events

Meet your Adviser

Advisers are members of the academic staff of the School. You will be allocated to an individual adviser and this will be an important contact person for you throughout your time at university. Your adviser can help you select or change modules, give advice about selecting modules, and support you if you are having academic or personal difficulties. Later in your studies, your adviser can give you career advice too.

It is important for you to establish a relationship with your adviser early on, so we’ve scheduled sessions for you to meet with your Adviser of Studies in a group session during Welcome Week (week beginning 15 September). This will be on campus. You will receive details of your appointment via email to your University of Dundee account. You will also receive a copy of the Psychology Handbook which you should read prior to Week 1. Also, we are scheduling a programme of activities during Welcome Week. Please keep your eyes on your emails for more information about these events.
