This international five year programme in Architecture is approved by the Ministry of Education, People’s Republic of China. Students attend Wuhan University for the first four years and then complete their fifth year at University of Dundee.
The unifying ethos is for the creation of responsive and sustainable architecture, one where beauty and meaning are expressed through a clear understanding of the means by which it is made and functions, serving the needs of individuals and expressing the cultural aspirations of society.
I come here as student of co-program with Wuhan University in China. I enjoy the life in Dundee which is slow and enable me to focus on my study. Tutors are nice and have a plenty of experience to share with me. Staff and other students are willing to help each other.

Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF)
The University of Dundee has been given a Gold award – the highest possible rating – in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
Students are supported by classroom lectures, seminars and workshops and work through personal and group investigative study. Included also are studio design projects in which students learn to integrate all the constituent subject areas into a meaningful architectural whole.
The first four years are concerned with gaining and developing the skills, knowledge and understanding required to complete and communicate a complex architectural design. This will also include particularly in Year 1 and 2 Chinese Public course teaching.
At Honours level an international experience places a greater emphasis on the development of these skills and encourages each and every student to develop an individual position within the complex and evolving profession of architecture.
Student learning is both directed and independent.
Teaching is delivered both through engagement with studio projects and practical exercises; and through classroom, lecture and seminar delivery. One to one, small team and group tutorials/seminars are used on a regular basis.
Students will be required to work in a variety of media: drawn, 3-dimensional and digital. Regular and comprehensive visual and verbal presentations of their work are made, recording the development of the project over the year.
Students will also be required to produce project-related statements and reports which examine both generic issues and how knowledge gained in the complementary cognate areas have been assimilated within their own design work.
Architecture has become a global profession with top practices now seeking multi-lingual, young graduates who have a wide cultural experience and the ability to adapt to different and changing contexts. This course exposes students to a variety of cultural and educational experiences in preparation for an international profession.
Included in the first four years of study students will undertake practice experience in China before joining the final year of study in University of Dundee.
