After graduation, Araya plans to work at the Department of Water Resources in Thailand where she will apply her knowledge about sustainability and water security to her work.

Araya believes she can improve water management in Thailand with the new experiences from her postgraduate education. We ask Araya more about her time studying in Dundee.

Being an international student in Scotland

"Although English is not my first language, it’s not an obstacle to study because the university supports international students by providing the pre-sessional courses and the in-sessional courses for overseas students to prepare and improve their English skill. I also started with the pre-sessional course. It was really useful. I can adapt and use skills of reading, academic writing, critical thinking, discussing, and taking note with my classes."

Best things about the Sustainability and Water Security MSc

"The module on sustainability presents the current situation and international law. I can apply the knowledge and management from other countries to my country. There are both seminar and lecture classes which convince students to discuss and exchange experiences. Furthermore, teachers are also kind and helpful."

What are the best things about the University of Dundee?

"I appreciate the modern libraries, IT support, sports facilities, student society (Dusa, Friend International, Christian Union) and health care center. Management of the library is really efficient especially in the Coronavirus situation. They ensure that I will safe when I stay in the library. The librarians are helpful."

Best things about the city of Dundee

"Dundee is a silent city which suits to study. It’s not too big a city. We can go around by walking and cycling. The air is really fresh as well as the environment is so nice. Moreover, people are friendly and helpful."
