Successes at Annual Third Year PhD Poster Session

The annual third year PhD poster session took place this week with excellent entries from 27 students across the School.
Each poster was judged by three of the 14 judges who included PIs and senior postdoctoral researchers.
1st Prize went to Marcus Bage (joint student in Andrei Pisliakov lab in Computational Biology and Victoria Cowling lab in GRE) with a poster entitled, 'Recruitment of the human mRNA Capping Enzyme by the C-terminal Domain of RNA Polymerase II: Insights from molecular dynamics simulations'. 2nd Prize went to Luciana de Sousa Paradela (Ian Gilbert's lab in BCDD) with a poster entitled, 'Identification and validation of lanosterol synthase as the target of a phenotypically-active antileishmanial compound'. 3rd Prize went to Joshua Peter (Yogesh Kulathu's lab in MRCPPU) for a poster entitled, 'Biochemical and structural characterisation of protein Ufmylation'.
The winners each received prizes (1st £250, 2nd £150, 3rd £100) from event sponsors Thermofisher Scientific.
