School of Medicine welcomes Professor Vasilis Gorgoulis in new partnership

Professor Vasilis Gorgoulis of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens has been appointed Chair of Clinical Molecular Pathology in the School of Medicine at the University of Dundee.
The appointment of Professor Gorgoulis, who is Professor of Pathology and Director of the Laboratory of Histology-Embryology at the Athens university, is the starting point for broader bilateral relations between the two Medical Schools.
The announcement follows a meeting on 8 April, where co-operation incorporating both education and research between the Laboratory of Histology-Embryology, the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the School of Medicine in Dundee was discussed
Dean of the University of Dundee School of Medicine, Professor Rory McCrimmon and Professor Russell Petty, Chair of Medical Oncology in the School of Medicine and the Director of Tayside Medical Science Centre met with Professor Gerasimos Siasos, Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
They were joined by Professor Sofia Papaioannou, the Vice-Rector for Academics, International Relations and Externalisation, Professor Nikolaos Arkadopoulos, Dean of the Medical School and Professor Gorgoulis.
