Work by dozens of students from some of the UK's most innovative and exciting postgraduate courses will be exhibited online when the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design Masters Showcase 2020 opens next month.

The Masters Showcase attracts thousands of visitors each year but will take place fully online in 2020 as a result of ongoing restrictions in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

More than 60 students will be displaying transformative design and visually stunning art created on the MSc Animation & VFX, MFA Art & Humanities, MDes Comics & Graphic Novels, MSc Forensic Art & Facial Identification, MSc Medical Art and MSc Product Design courses.

The exhibition launch will be broadcast live online on Friday 16 October to students, staff, families, friends and other visitors. This event will see Masters students discuss the inspiration behind their work while members of the DJCAD community will also be broadcasting messages of support and congratulations.

The exhibition will continue until Sunday 25 October, with a series of online speaker events also taking place throughout the week.

Professor Anita Taylor, Dean of Duncan of Jordanstone, said, “These students have produced an incredibly thought-provoking body of work, which is all the more impressive given the fact they have done so in extremely difficult circumstances.

“We wish we could present a physical exhibition and opening event to celebrate the work of our students, but while that is unfortunately impossible in the current context we remain committed to creating the best possible platform for them.

“The Masters Showcase, accompanying social media campaign and online events will allow us to share the achievements of our fantastic postgraduate students with public and professional communities, friends and families alike.”
