The work of students from some of the UK’s most contemporary and exciting postgraduate courses will be exhibited online when the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design Masters Showcase 2021 launches this  week.

The Masters Showcase is a staple event that has attracted thousands of visitors over the years, both in-person and online. This year it will be hosted fully online for a second year running.

More than 60 students will be displaying transformative design and visually stunning art created on the MSc Animation & VFX, MFA Art & Humanities, MDes Comics & Graphic Novels, MSc Forensic Art & Facial Identification, MSc Medical Art, MSc Product Design and MDes (Res) Masters by Research programme.

The 2021 Showcase launch will be broadcast live online on Friday 4 September to students, staff, families, friends, supporters and other visitors. This event will see Masters students discuss the inspiration behind their work while members of the DJCAD community broadcast messages of support and congratulations.

The exhibition will continue until Sunday 12 September, with a series of online speaker events also taking place throughout the week.

Professor Anita Taylor, Dean of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, said, “These students have produced incredibly thought-provoking bodies of work, which is all the more impressive given the fact they have done so in extremely difficult circumstances given the impacts of the pandemic during their time with us.

“We very much wish we could present a physical Postgraduate Degree Show and opening event to celebrate the work of our students in 2021. While this has unfortunately been impossible to arrange in the current context, we remain committed to creating the best possible platform to share their work with a wider public and to facilitate opportunities for them.

“The Masters Showcase 2021, accompanying social media campaign and online events, enables us to share the many achievements of our fantastic postgraduate students with professional communities, friends and families, and the public alike.”
