Professor John Peters was presented with a FaME Award for session 2018-2019 at the annual awards ceremony from the Faculty of Medical Educators (FaME), in association with the School of Medicine. The ceremony took place within the Medical School at Ninewells Hospital on the 18th. March.

John who is part of the D'Arcy Thompson Unit in SLS was presented with ‘A FaME Award 2018/19 in the Honorary FaME category’. FaME awards are made to ‘Reward and promote excellence in undergraduate medical education’. This is the first year that an Honorary FaME Award has been made and the award itself was decided upon by a committee that comprises of medical students at various stages of their training.

John said upon receiving this award, "I am extremely honoured to have been presented with an Honorary FaME award. It has great significance to me as FaME Awards are made by the Medical Students I have taught over the years and to whom I am extremely grateful for their generous recognition".
