Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design Masters Show 2023

Work by students from some of the UK’s most exciting postgraduate degree programmes will be on show to the public next month at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design Masters Show 2023

The Masters Show is a staple calendar event that has attracted thousands of visitors over the years, both in-person and online. 

Visitors are once again invited to the studios and exhibition spaces at Duncan of Jordanstone to explore a multitude of works that include fine art, comics, and animation, to items designed with health, science, innovation and functionality in mind. 

Around 60 students will be displaying inspirational and thought-provoking work created on the Animation & VFX MSc, Art & Humanities MFA, Art, Science & Visual Thinking MFA, Comics & Graphic Novels MDes, Design for Business MSc, Design for Healthcare MSc, Drawing MFA, Fine Art MFA, Product Design MSc, Medical Art MSc, and Forensic Art & Facial Imaging MSc

The exhibition is open to the public from Saturday 19 August to Sunday 27 August.  

Professor Anita Taylor, Dean of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, said, “We are really looking forward to sharing and celebrating the creative achievements of our fantastic postgraduate students with our professional communities, industry, friends, families, and the public. 

“Presented in our studios as well as the Cooper Gallery, the Masters Show provides a unique opportunity to see the thought-provoking, innovative and imaginative work made by each of our students during this intensive year of postgraduate study.  

“Many students have progressed from the undergraduate programmes here at DJCAD or at other institutions in Scotland, the wider UK or internationally - or have returned to study after working in industry and/or in other fields to work with our inspiring staff, resources and setting to develop and transform their practice. 

“We look forward to welcoming everyone to enjoy the creativity and passions of our graduating students from the 11 postgraduate courses, including our newest programme – Drawing MFA.  

“Our specialist and interdisciplinary Masters programmes encompass creative practice in and through art, design, science and technology – and are led and delivered by our expert faculty in Art & Design in collaboration with colleagues in Life Sciences, Science & Engineering, Humanities, Social Science & Law.” 

The Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design Masters Show 2023 is open to the public from Saturday 19 August to Sunday 27 August.
