The Masters Show is a staple calendar event that has attracted thousands of visitors over the years, both in-person and online.

After two years of hosting the Masters Show online due to the Covid-19 pandemic, visitors are once again invited to the studios and exhibition spaces at DJCAD to explore a multitude of works that include fine art, comics, and animation, to items designed with health, science, innovation and functionality in mind.

More than 60 students will be displaying inspirational and thought-provoking work created on the Animation and VFX (MSc), Art & Humanities (MFA), Art, Science & Visual Thinking (MFA), Comics & Graphic Novels (MDes), Design for Business (MSc), Design for Healthcare (MSc), Fine Art (MFA), Forensic Art & Facial Imaging (MSc), Medical Art (MSc), and Product Design (MSc).

The exhibition is open to the public from Saturday 3 September to Sunday 11 September and can be viewed by all online or in-person with a pre-booked ticket.

Professor Anita Taylor, Dean of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, said, “It’s an immense pleasure to be able to present the Masters Show in the Cooper Gallery and Studios of DJCAD for the first time since 2019. We are really looking forward to sharing and celebrating the achievements of our fantastic postgraduate students with professional communities, friends and families, and the public alike.”

“The joy of this degree show is the opportunity to see the work of our very talented Postgraduate students, who have each produced thought-provoking, imaginative, and innovative, individual bodies of work during their intensive year of study with us.

“This year we are presenting the outcomes of ten postgraduate courses, including three new programmes – Art, Science & Visualisation, Design for Healthcare, and Fine Art. Our specialist and interdisciplinary Masters programmes encompass art, design, science and technology.

"They are delivered by a distinguished faculty with excellent research and professional industry experience in Art & Design, and in collaboration with Life Sciences, Science & Engineering, and Humanities, Social Science & Law.”

Those interested in finding out more about DJCAD and its postgraduate courses are invited to attend the Art & Design Postgraduate Open Day at DJCAD Masters Show, being held on Wednesday 7 September. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the show and chat to staff and students.
