David Lilley made visiting professor at Nankai University

Professor David Lilley has been made a visiting professor at Nankai University in Tianjin, China. Nankai is one of the top 20 universities in China and is celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year.

Professor Lilley visited Nankai university last week where he was presented with the official notification of his professorship. He then delivered a lecture to students and scientists within the Pharmaceutical Chemistry department of the university.

This honour builds upon personal research links that Professor Lilley has with Nankai university. Yang Na, a professor at the University has been a long-time colleague, and one of Professor Lilley’s former postdocs, Liu Yijin is now an assistant professor of Nankai university.

Professor Lilley has a number of strong links with China. He has been a visiting professor in Xiamen University for six years, and each summer teaches an advanced course in the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. He also has an office in the Chinese Academy of Sciences Biophysics Institute in Beijing.
