The article highlights three data visualisation tools he and co-author, Seán I. O’Donoghue, developed to help life scientists find relevant and useful information amongst the noise. The visualisation principles used in these tools are general and help in many complex data challenges.

The Conversation is an independent source of news and views, sourced from the academic and research community and delivered direct to the public. The University recently signed up with them and will provide a number of first-person pieces from academics at the University. They are also open to submissions from PhD students and other early-career researchers. Content published on The Conversation is freely available for other media outlets to re-use and the most popular articles are read by thousands of people, many of them academics, around the world.

Our University Press team is on hand to help with articles by offering editorial advice or even drafting pieces following interviews with the researchers. It is worth checking out the Health & Medicine and Science & Technology pages to get a flavour of the content that appears on the site.
