Dr Land said, "This came as a real surprise and a bit of a shock….albeit a pleasant one! The success of the Biological and Biomedical Education curriculum has been built through the commitment and sheer hard graft of colleagues both past and present and so I’m very much aware that, in receiving this award, I’m standing on the shoulders of giants.  Thank you!"

Winners of the Chancellor's Award must demonstrate enhancement to practice, and sustainable change and impact as a direct result of their teaching. Furthermore, their instigation, establishment and evaluation of outstanding teaching and support of transformational learning must reflect the University’s values and leave a legacy within the area of practice.

Professor Blair Grubb, Vice-Principal Education, said "This past year has posed unprecedented challenges. The work of Stephen exemplifies the very best of how our community has responded."
