Board Member appointment to NHS Tayside
Published on 8 May 2019
Professor Graeme Martin from the School of Business has been appointed as a non-executive Board Member for NHS Tayside by the Cabinet Secretary for Health for four years from 1 January, 2019
His appointment is a direct result of his research and knowledge exchange in healthcare management and his work with doctors over the past ten years.
The job of a non-executive Board Member is to help NHS Tayside “ensure effective and accountable governance of the NHS Tayside system, and to provide strategic leadership and direction for the system as a whole.’ As part of his role, he has also been appointed to the Angus Health and Social Care Joint Integrated Board, and will serve on committees for Performance and Resources and Staff Governance.
He is also playing a role in the Transforming Tayside NHS task force, working with the medical directorate on medical leadership and engagement, and the workforce directorate on measuring employee performance and engagement. It is also clear that NHS Tayside are keen to work with the School of Busiess in assisting it to achieve its transformation objectives.
