Teaching

Prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students study together on this course.

There are two types of classes, each with a dedicated tutor:

Reading and writing

  • 90-minute group class, five days per week
  • two one-to-one tutorials

Speaking and listening

  • 90-minute group class, four days per week
  • one guest lecture per week

You will be part of a group of around 12 law students.

In addition to these classes, you will also study independently for around two hours a day. We will provide you tasks to complete before each lesson. For example, you might read a text which you will then discuss with your tutor and classmates. All of the texts you read will be relevant to your studies in law.

You will also have one-to-one tutorials giving you individual feedback on your writing and speaking, along with advice on how to improve.

Assessment

You will be assessed using similar tasks to those which you are required to complete as a law student. During the 4 weeks you will:

  • write a 500-word essay
  • participate in a legal debate
  • deliver a presentation-discussion

Part of your grade will also come from your participation and attendance.
