Biography
Zoi Pittaki joined University of Dundee in August 2023 as a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. She holds a PhD in Economic and Social History from University of Glasgow, as well as an MPhil in Economics, an MSc in Applied Economics and Finance and a BSc in Economics from University of Athens, Greece. Prior to joining University of Dundee, Zoi held positions at Brunel University of London, University of Strathclyde and University of Glasgow.
Zoi’s research interests include entrepreneurship and institutions, entrepreneurship and growth, social entrepreneurship, taxation and historical institutionalism. She has published in, among others, Business History, Enterprise & Society and the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management.

Awarded £5,000 in internal funding as co-Investigator for the impact-oriented project ‘Developing a Framework for Effective Financial Management Training for Third Sector Organisations’ led by Dr Paul Caulfield. Institutional service, citizenship and leadership roles
Zoi is currently a member of the Research and Knowledge Exchange as well as the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion committees in the School of Business.
She is also a member of the editorial board of the journal Business and Industrial History: A Journal of Archival Research. Zoi has also served as the Communications Officer for the Association of Business Historians and as a reviewer for the journals Business History (AJG 4), International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management (AJG 3), Essays in Economic & Business History, and Journal of Tax Administration. She has also been a reviewer of academic book proposals and published scholarly books for Palgrave Macmillan, Routledge and Edinburgh University Press.

Zoi was nominated and shortlisted for the Best Assessment Feedback Award in the 2024 Student Led Teaching Awards, School of Business, University of Dundee.
