About Tarek

I'm a dentist, dental public health researcher and content writer. I love music and I've been playing the guitar for the better part of 10 years. I'm also an avid reader, language learner and cooking enthusiast. During my studies at the University of Dundee, I was a social member of a number of clubs and societies, including the Philosophy Film Club, Traditional Music Society and Sailing Club.

Reason for becoming an Alumni Ambassador

As a postgraduate dental student, I really enjoyed being a class representative for my 2016/17 Master of Dental Public Health group. I got to meet new students and help them get a sense of the programme as well as the city and university. Having been once in their shoes, I know what it feels like to have a lot of questions and no one to ask. My stay in Dundee was one of the best experiences of my life and has familiarized with various aspects of Scottish culture and academia. That's why I'd like to take this opportunity to give back to the university by helping prospective students and fellow alumni in any way I can.
