Biography

Louise Ray is an Archives and Records Management Consultant with over thirty years’ experience working in the UK Archive Sector. She currently works with organisations across the charity, arts, local authority, business and higher education sectors. Beginning her career with a number of prestigious organisations (including Tate, the School of Oriental and African Studies and the National Theatre) she moved into strategic roles within the sector; as Archives Development Officer for London, Archive Lottery Adviser and later as Programme Manager (Development Advice) at The National Archives. Louise is a Registered member of the Archives and Records Association, a peer reviewer on the Archive Service Accreditation Scheme and an Honorary Lecturer at University College London. She has been involved in setting up various networks supporting information professionals and has written on aspects of service management including funding and volunteering. She was previously on the ARA Board.
