Biography
Kalani is from Sri Lanka and studied MSc Finance in our School of Business, graduating in 2022.
About Kalani
I am a recent graduate from the School of Business and currently working as an Accountant in a company where it gives priority to sustainability, where the reverse vending solution enables the sorting, and recycling of used beverage containers, thereby reducing waste and protecting the environment for future generations. I came to Dundee in 2021 for my master's and it was during the pandemic time. Hopefully, we were able to go through that. During my study period, I was able to become the student representative for the financial pathway. There I have helped students in educational and other matters too.
In my spare time, I love reading books and travelling at the same time, I do guide the students who already come and who wish to arrive in Dundee. I was the person in charge of the reaffiliation of the Sri Lankan Society and through that, we have done some remarkable events for the students who were under pressure because of the exams and other matters.
I always love to connect with people from everywhere and share the experience that we gained and obtain what they have.
Reason for becoming an Alumni Ambassador
I figured out that being an Alumni Ambassador is expanding the way of getting in touch with other students who need us. I enjoyed my time in Dundee and at the university as well, so I wanted to give that experience to others. There are lots of ways to be productive in the university while we are studying. I achieved that. Therefore, I want to guide others to that and help to achieve their dreams while in Dundee. Also, I found out that there aren't any ambassadors for Sri Lanka, so I thought I should be one for them. Hence, I decided to become an alumni ambassador for all of the students who need me!!
