Biography

Jason is the Technology Enhanced Learning and Design Lead for the School of Science and Engineering. Having over 15 years of experience in the media industry, Jason has developed a deep expertise in digital content creation, project management, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies within educational settings. He holds a Diploma in Digital Film and Video from Lasalle College, Vancouver, a Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Business from Emeritus, a Master’s in digital Asset and Media Management from King’s College London, and a Fellowship from Advance HE—forming a strong foundation in both creative production and educational pedagogy.

In his role at the university, Jason provides expert support to academic staff across the diverse disciplines of the School of Science and Engineering, offering guidance on the effective use of educational technologies such as Blackboard VLE, Blackboard Collaborate, Turnitin, Panopto, and other digital technologies. He works closely with teaching teams to develop strategies for content creation, learning design, and the integration of digital tools in face-to-face, blended, and online learning environments.

Collaborating with the Educational Development team, Jason contributes to the creation and review of module content, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and high quality in all learning materials. His extensive experience in digital media enables him to lead projects that adapt traditional teaching materials into interactive online formats, creating engaging multimedia content to enrich the student learning experience.

Passionate about emerging technologies, Jason stays up to date of the latest trends in online learning and digital media. He integrates these innovations into his work to uphold best practices in teaching and assessment. Currently, Jason is involved in SSEN projects supported by external funding from organisations such as The Dundee City Council, The Royal Engineering Society and The Ace Centre.
