Biography

Dr. Singh graduated with distinction from Malaysia in 2008 and was awarded the prestigious TMA Pai Gold Medal for Overall Best Student. He completed his early medical training in Kuala Lumpur General Hospital and moved to the UK to pursue an M.D. as an EASD-funded research fellow in heart failure and diabetes, focusing on SGLT2-inhibitors.

His research work in Malaysia and the UK has led to numerous publications and presentations in Asia, Europe and America, receiving multiple accolades including Best Speaker at the ASEAN Federation of Cardiology, the Fitzgerald Peel Prize, Highest Ranking Abstract at the British Cardiovascular Society’s Annual Scientific Meeting and finalist at the British Society of Heart Failure’s Young Investigator Award. Dr Singh has also been recognised as an educator, having been awarded the University of Dundee’s FAME Award for Innovation in Medical Education.

Outside of his research and medical education interests, Dr Singh is also a member of the British Cardiovascular Society’s Guidelines and Practice Committee, the BMA’s Scottish Council and American College of Cardiology’s Fellows in Training International working group. He is actively involved with NICE for drug/technology appraisals, scoping workshops and as a Clinical Expert.

Dr Singh is currently pursuing a higher specialisation in heart failure, complex devices and cardiac MRI in Edinburgh.
