Biography
Iris is the Director of IGTRF, Chair of Neuroradiology at the University of Dundee, and a Consultant Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiologist at NHS Tayside. She has >20 years' experience in interventional procedures, medical device verification and validation studies, including first-in human. Iris has led numerous research and innovation projects, has been on advisory boards and safety panels and, as an end-user, knows the importance of accurate interactions with study teams and regulatory bodies. She has authored or co-authored >180 peer-reviewed publications and presented at >500 scientific meetings. In 2025, she was awarded an Innovate UK ‘Women in Innovation’ Purple Plaque.
As VP for the World Federation for Interventional Stroke Treatment (WIST) she guides clinicians and hospitals in establishing thrombectomy and carotid stenting services.
