Biography
Hirofumi Fukuyama is an Honorary Professor at the University of Dundee School of Business, bringing a wealth of expertise from his distinguished career. He served as a full Professor at Fukuoka University from 1995 until 2024 and now holds the title of Professor Emeritus there. He earned his PhD in Economics from Southern Illinois University (Carbondale), USA.
Professor Fukuyama's research focuses on the Theory and Applications of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), Shephard’s Production Theory, Bank Performance, Efficiency and Productivity Analysis, Environmental Economics, and Sustainability. His extensive contributions to the field are reflected in numerous publications in prestigious journals such as the European Journal of Operations Research, Omega, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Annals of Operations Research, and Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money.
He also holds various editorial roles, including Editor of The Data Envelopment Analysis Journal and Associate Editor for Omega: International Journal of Management Science, and Editorial Board member for Sustainability journal.
