Erica Downs

Dr Erica Downs is a Senior Analyst at Eurasia Group, an international consulting group headquartered in New York, with a focus on the politics of business. Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Erica was a fellow in the John L. Thornton China Center at the Brookings Institution. Previously, she worked as an energy analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency and as a lecturer at the Foreign Affairs College in Beijing, China. Erica holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. from Princeton University and a B.S. from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.

Erica focuses on China, with a particular emphasis on China's energy sector. She also follows China's overseas investment and lending and the geopolitical implications of China's international commercial activities.
