Elspeth Reid

Elspeth Reid is an Archivist and a Fellow of the Archives and Records Association. Much of her career has focused on enabling researchers to access and understand local records and on leading archives staff to provide a search room service for local and family researchers. She was the first archivist appointed to Falkirk Archives (1992-2018) where she led a small team in achieving Archives Accreditation in 2014. More recently she has been working with the National Records of Scotland and she previously worked with a range of archives in Scotland and Canada. She was a Commissioner of the Royal Commission on Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland, has contributed to several professional initiatives and organisations and continues to mentor archives students and archivists on the continuing professional development scheme of the Archives and Records Association.
