Elspeth Reid is a Registered Archivist currently working at the National Records of Scotland with the Government Records team.  Previously she was the first archivist appointed to Falkirk Archives (1992-2018) where she led a small team in achieving Archives Accreditation in 2014.  She previously worked for the Scottish Record office (1991-92), Glasgow University Archives (1991), the Prebyterian Church in Canada Archives, the Law Society of Upper Canada and the United Church of Canada (1987-91) andPerth & Kinross District Archives (1985-1986).  She was Chair of the Society of Archivists Scotland, 2006-2008, a Commissioner of the Royal Commission on Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland, 2008-2015 and has contributed to a number of professional initiatives and organisations.  She has a strong commitment to CPD and has mentored students on several distance learning courses as well as mentoring candidates for Registration with the Archives and Records Association.
