Biography

Dmitry graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology from the University of Dundee in 2015, concurrently receiving the Full Blue Certificate at the Enterprise Gym's Discovery Challenge. Following his internship at the local Division of Computational Biology, he stayed at the University of Dundee to conduct early research on Thiel-embalmed organ perfusion evaluation and obtained an MSc in Biomedical Engineering in 2016. 

Dmitry then embarked on a PhD in Forensic Medicine at the Central South University in China. His research was dedicated to utilizing cutting-edge high-throughput metagenomic sequencing methods and machine learning algorithms which he employed to successfully unravel indicators for Post Mortem Submersion Interval (PMSI) estimations. Beyond the confines of laboratories and hospital settings, he actively collaborated with his supervisor, Cai Jifeng, on endeavours related to medical dispute mediation and the study of associated legal processes.

Throughout his academic career, Dmitry collaborated with start-ups and enterprise initiatives, honing his skills in business development and strategic planning. From 2021 Dmitry worked as a Business Development Manager at MRC PPU, where he contributed to the national UKRI project design and IT implementation and led business intelligence strategy development. Now, as the Scientific Facilities Business Development Manager at the School of Life Sciences, he actively collaborates with scientific facilities within the university to form partnerships with national and international organizations in the life science industry.
