Biography
Claire McGinnis is a Senior Solicitor in the University of Dundee’s Legal team. Claire is responsible for assisting the University in managing legal risks and works closely with a number of directorates across the University, with a particular focus on international and contractual matters. Key projects to date include:
- The implementation of standard contracts for international collaborations.
- The implementation of new student terms and conditions.
- Updating the constitutional agreements for the establishment of the Academic Health Science Partnership in Tayside (AHSP).
Claire is a qualified solicitor and a member of the Law Society of Scotland.
Claire joined the University in 2017 having worked as a corporate and commercial solicitor in Aberdeen for over 4 years advising clients on a broad range of matters including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, advising individuals, corporate bodies and institutions on mergers & acquisitions, business start-ups & reorganisations, banking & finance and intellectual property matters. Claire also has experience in advising clients on constitutional issues and corporate governance.
