This module covers a core approach in Psychology: the scientific study of the biology of behaviour.
In this module we will see how your biology influence your actions, choices, and reactions. We will address topics such as the role of biological processes in the formation of memory, our experience of hunger, how we sleep, and drug addiction.
What you will learn
In this module you will:
- learn about core theories and principles of biological psychology
- learn about historical context and contemporary issues in biological psychology
- develop a detailed and critical understanding of the relevant research methodologies and issues related to biological psychology, and critically evaluate research in this area
By the end of this module, you will:
- have detailed knowledge and critical understanding of core theories and methods of analysis used in the area of biological psychology
- be able to find, read and evaluate relevant research within this area
- be able to express your knowledge - for example, in writing or discussion
