You will learn a comprehensive overview of residential conveyancing practice in Scotland. You will look at the entire conveyancing process:

  • marketing a property through to completion
  • registration
  • possible post-settlement issues

Ethical elements of conveyancing will also be explored. This will be with reference to the Practice Rules and Guidelines of The Law Society of Scotland.

Other topics in this module include:

  • the influence of the economy and market forces on conveyancing
  • contracts of sale and purchase
  • creation of heritable securities
  • the process of examination of title
  • commercial and residential leasing

What you will learn

In this module you will:

  • learn about Family law statutory rights around Scots Property transactions
  • look at executory conveyancing and Land & Building Transaction tax
