This module introduces the fundamental methods used in motion analysis. The learning units cover the topics of:
Musculoskeletal System and Functional Motion
Data Acquisition and Processing
Joints, Limbs and their Properties
Calculation of Kinematic Parameters
Calculation of Kinetic Parameters
You will learn how musculoskeletal functions are associated with movements, and that joint and limb properties are basic components of biomechanical calculation. You will learn about the topics of justification, filtering, resampling and smoothing in relation to data processing and learn in detail the stages used in kinematics and kinetics to calculate joint angles, forces, and movements using marker coordinates and external forces.
