Business Management Work Based Learning I module (GA11004)
Develop reflective practice and professional skills through a year-long process of documenting and applying learnings from the workplace
Business Management Work-based Learning I at SCQF Level 7 is a substantial 30-credit, year-long module that forms the work-based learning component of the Business Management Graduate Apprenticeship.
The module provides the structured opportunity to reflect on and document the learning achieved through both academic study and workplace experience during year one, encouraging you to synthesise these learnings and apply them meaningfully to your own organisation and role. The module focuses on two core activities.
The first assignment is the poster presentation in which you will be presenting a mega trend topic of your choice and relate it back to your organisation. Meanwhile, the second part of the assignment is the maintenance of a reflective journal throughout the year, which records your experiences, insights and ongoing professional development, developing the habit of reflective practice that underpins lifelong learning in business management.
The module also develops problem-solving, communication, time management, self-assessment and independent study skills. Teaching and support are delivered through structured sessions on campus and ongoing workplace mentor engagement.
