Teaching methods / timetable

The module will be delivered by academics from the three Schools involved (Art & Design, Medicine, Health Sciences). Individuals from external organisations may be invited to deliver workshops or lectures or to supervise students.

Students will be predominantly self-directed in leading the investigation, liaising with healthcare professionals and users and in resolution of a design project. Students will meet regularly over the course of the semester with the module staff to update on progress and receive feedback, both individually and with peers to enable shared learning experiences

Students will be supported by an academic supervisor in the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design as well as a supervisor from either Medicine or Health Sciences who will assist in negotiating interactions with healthcare settings and provide guidance on healthcare related subjects. Students will divide their time between the healthcare context into which they are connected and studio space in Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design.
