​​Your professional experience has real value. This module gives you a structured process to evaluate and document that learning, so it can be recognised towards your qualification. 

​You'll work through guidance on reflective practice and professional learning. You will do this before building a portfolio of evidence. 

​Your reflections will connect your experience to the competences outlined by the CLD Standards Council Scotland. 

​The module is delivered fully online on My Dundee. This is the University's virtual learning environment. You will have academic support from a tutor throughout. There will also be opportunities to join workshops or webinars. 

​What you will learn

​In this module, you will: 

  • ​reflect on your prior professional experience. You will do this to show that you are a reflective practitioner 
  • ​evaluate your professional learning and connect it to community work practice 

​By the end of this module, you will be able to: 

  • ​show the knowledge and skills needed to develop areas within your professional practice 
  • ​use reflection to improve your professional practice 
  • ​identify and evaluate significant learning events in your professional life 
  • ​consider how your knowledge and understanding shapes the way you work​

Assignments / assessments

  • ​​Coursework (Pass/Fail) 
    • ​You will complete a reflective portfolio of evidence. This will allow you to show your professional learning and practice competence against CLD Standards 

​This module does not have a final exam.​
