Linking Theory to Practice: A Self Directed Learning Project module (CM50170)

This module is the capstone project for the Masters in Medical Education for those who choose the Scholarship route. It aims to provide you with practical healthcare professions education experiences. These are tailored to your specific learning requirements as an educator.

What you will learn

In this module, you will:

• negotiate and optimise learning opportunities in the context of healthcare professions education
• learn to implement new ways of supporting learning
• build upon current and emerging understandings of healthcare professional education and reflection

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

• show learning acquired from a diverse range of learning and teaching experiences within healthcare professional education
• evidence a critical understanding of underpinning theories and principles
• identify and negotiate learning opportunities, designed to bridge and advance a critical perspective on the theory and practice of healthcare professional education
• develop original and creative responses to problems and issues identified
• critically reflect on personal experiences of supporting learning and clearly articulate related learning
• develop a strategy for initiating and sustaining best practice in healthcare professional education in your own work context
• evidence informed judgement and substantial autonomy
