The module aims to support students to explore their role as a teacher in the context of anaesthesiology and enhance their skills as a reflective teacher in that context. 

By the end of this module, students should be able to:

  1. Critically appraise the roles, responsibilities, skills and attributes of the clinical teacher in relation to current approaches to supporting learning in the Anaesthetics workplace.
  2. Critically appraise the practicality of theories and models of workplace learning in relation to clinical teaching and learning in the Anaesthetics context.
  3. Articulate a critical stance by reflecting upon your own planning, preparation and delivery of clinically focused teaching activities.
  4. Recommend practical measures to critically analyse and integrate key trends and evidence-based strategies into your clinical teaching in the Anaesthetics setting.
