Medical Education Research module (CM50140)

Build on basic scholarship principles learnt across previous core and optional modules for the Certificate (Learning and Teaching in Medical Education & the Principles of Assessment in Medical Education) and Diploma, and prepare students for independent medical education research as part of the Masters.

By the end of this module, students should be able to: 

• Summarise medical education research approaches and appraise the role of theory within education research 
• Critically explore key ethical considerations in medical education research 
• Critically evaluate key methods (data collection and data analysis) in medical education research 
• Create a theoretically informed, coherent and rigorous medical education research proposal
