You will learn about the content, value and limitations of external financial statement; their statutory and regulatory contexts as well as the requirement for related non-financial information. Plus the content and value of management accounting statements. This will allow you to take part in key organisational discussions.

Working within business you will meet with many different stakeholders such as shareholders, customers, suppliers, special interest groups and other organisational departments. This module will allow you to form important decisions based on financial numbers whilst also linking strategy and operations.

What you will learn

In this module, you will:

  • understand the fundamental accounting concepts, principles and structures as well as the users of accounting information
  • discuss the accounting information (both financial and non-financial) required to link strategy and operations for decision making
  • analyse, interpret and discuss the sustainable performance monitoring, measurement and reporting

By the end of the module you will be able to:

  • understand accounting through the preparation and interpretation of financial information
  • work collaboratively, use digital resources, and improved your decision making skills
