By completing this auditing module you will meet the accreditation requirements of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants Paper F8 ‘Audit and Assurance’ as part of your MSc in Professional Accountancy.
You will already have a good understanding of financial accounting principles and basic auditing concepts, this module allows you to expand upon them exploring auditing and assurance standards, ethical codes of practice, audits of interim financial information, and relevant research literature.
What you will learn
In this module, you will:
- critically evaluate a variety of information and evidence
- acquire effective digital literacy
- exploring auditing and assurance standards
- research ethical codes of practice
- follow the processes to audit interim financial information
- discuss relevant research literature
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- be critically aware of the audit profession and its auditing standards

Teaching methods / timetable
You should expect a 2 hour lecture, and a 2 hour tutorial each week, both in-person. You will be expected to have completed the reading and tasks beforehand so you can participate in class.
