This module examines the Scottish business environment with a focus on developing and growing a business. The former includes the study of regional economic integration and their implications for business. The latter covers business scale-up theories and concepts and how businesses could use them to formulate appropriate strategies. Students will also explore issues of the internal environment of enterprises and their operations; an understanding of organisation forms and structures; explore ways to set up, grow and scale up small businesses; and enhance business skills via an understanding of the practical application of theoretical knowledge to real-life case studies.
