Educators must have an understanding of local, national, and international systems of policies, practices, and legal requirements relevant to practice.

This knowledge is important to help educators reflect on and analyse policies they engage with. This will ensure that they meet the needs of the service and service users.

Related to this is the importance of being able to reflect on, put in place, and review policy changes which are made. This is to ensure positive outcomes for a variety of stakeholders.

In this module, you will learn to review practice. This is done through a focused review. You will cover an understanding of current legislation, policies, and inspection documents.

This knowledge will go towards the improvement and development of your practice.

You will address specific features of The Standard for Childhood Practice (2015). These relate to research methods to inform practice.
