Harri Johnston
I enjoy experimenting with different genres and styles using comics to express my interests and sense of humour.
About
My main drive for creating comics is my love of the craft itself because of how versatile it is and how it allows me to tell a story using my art. While I particularly enjoy the Comedy and Horror genres I don't feel confined to any one particular genre or style which allows me to be versatile in the way I express myself in my art. I particularly enjoy the way comics can be used as a form of parody or social commentary and I like to let my own sense of humour come through in my work. My main inspiration for my work this year has been to do with themes of nostalgia and my own hyper fixations as an autistic person in areas such as video games and animals. My final project 'Super Gacha Girl' was inspired by my love of the Magical Girl Manga genre and all it's eccentricities and is a labour of love that I hope to continue past this first volume.
