Exploring the intersection of Chinese philosophy, Contemporary art, and Humanities

About

As an old saying goes in Chinese Taoism, 'human beings and nature are unity.' In Taoism, 'integration of man and nature' mainly refers to the respect for life and conformity to nature. Taoism revolves around ‘Nature’ 自然(ZiRan) . ‘Nature’ is called ZiRan in Chinese culture, which is also A general term for all things. ‘Nature’ stresses that all beings in the world have their exclusive form of existence: Birds fly in the sky and fish swims in the water. All these phenomena occur naturally and are not subject to anyone’s will. As an artist, I would like to probe into our way of dealing with nature with the language of sculpture.

I have placed my ceramic sculptures in nature so that they can grow there. My ceramic works have then turned into a bridge between artists, works, and nature. This is also a way for me to explore how to live in harmony with nature. As an artist, I use the language of sculpture to explore how to live in harmony with nature. Perhaps, moss will start to grow on the sculptures in a year or shrubs will start to grow on them in a decade. Or perhaps, the sculptures will become invisible after a long period, but this is also the very significance and aim of my exploration. The result is not what matters most and the process of recording is more meaningful.
