Information for staff

Staff purchasing computers or software for personal use, using their own funds, may take advantage of the discounts detailed below.

For purchases funded by the University, please refer to the IT Buying Catalogue, which sets out approved laptops, desktops, monitors, accessories and mobile phones, together with current pricing and ordering instructions. If the product you require is not listed, please contact IT for advice.

Apple Store for Education

Available to Dundee staff, students attending or accepted onto a course at the University, and parents purchasing on behalf of a Dundee student.

Education pricing applies across Mac, iPad, displays, Apple Watch, and a range of accessories, with purchases available online, by phone, or in an Apple Store.

Microsoft Store

Students, parents and staff can save up to 10% on selected products, including Surface devices and PC accessories, at the Microsoft Store. Simply sign in with your personal Microsoft account to check your eligibility and view available discounts.

There's no need to buy Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more) separately. As a University of Dundee staff or student, you can access Microsoft 365 for free using your University dundee.ac.uk email address. Find out how to access Microsoft 365

Students can also access Azure for Students using their University email, providing access to Microsoft Azure services and tools for learning and development.
